Not only is it one of the largest artificial lakes in Slovenia, the Šmartinsko Lake is the current record holder for the biggest Carp ever caught in this country, topping the scale at 34.6kg (76 lbs). It was caught and released in November 2013. Situated in an incredibly stunning environment, the lake is home to the Grey-silver Carp, Grass Carp, Roach, Bream, Zander and Pike, among others.
