Overview

Antalya, also called the Turkish Riviera, is a city located in a real natural park. The streets lined with palm trees, the mountains that join the crystal clear turquoise sea make it one of the most important tourist cities in Turkey. In the old town of Antalya, called Kaleici, you can visit the old houses, built precisely during the Ottoman Empire and the old port, today used only for cruise ships, but throughout history being an important point of trade. Moreover, like all of Turkey and Antalya, it is a mosaic of culture. Before the Ottoman Empire, the Seljuks, Byzantines, Romans and Greeks lived on these beautiful lands. So, in the walls and buildings of the old city we can see traces left from each individual civilization. The city was founded in the second century by the king of Pergamon, Attalos the second being initially called Attaleai. The abundance of ruins and buildings left after these empires can be found everywhere in the city, especially on its shores.
