Overview

Sandland (Antalya Sand Sculpture Museum) is one of the foremost sand sculpture events globally. The art of sand sculpting is a singular type of ephemeral art which has been steadily gaining international recognition in recent years. Sand sculpting tasks only use sand and water, making them eligible as alternative arts. These works are created by either solo sculptors or teams of two to three people, resulting in massive masterpieces that weigh thousands of tons and measure several meters in height and length - with nothing more than water and sand. The art of sand sculpture follows the philosophy that nothing is permanent and all will eventually disappear. For 2021, the theme for Sandland is Atlantis; visitors can also admire seven wonders such as Chichen Itza, Keops Pyramid, Halikarnas Mosolleum etc. Moreover, children will have a wonderful time at Magic Sand Castle workshops where they can experience their first attempt at sand sculpture.

Every year, a group of internationally renowned sculptors craft 10,000 tons of sand into 7,000 meters square with a theme of ''SPACE ADVENTURE''. Enjoy creative activities with adults, teens and children as they express themselves through art in this form. Admire the magnificent visuals created by colorful LED lighting at night while watching the festival documentary for free or observe the moon, sun and planets on giant LED screen all day with telescopes.
