Overview
Luxor is referred to as the City of the Hundred Days or the City of the Sun. Formerly known as Thebes, it was the capital of Egypt during the Pharaonic era and is situated on either side of the Nile River. It has been said that Luxor houses a third of all monuments in existence worldwide, with many noteworthy sites.
The ancient Pharaonic complex is divided into two main parts: eastern and western banks. The east consists of Luxor Temple, Karnak Temple and Rams road connecting these two temples, plus Luxor Museum.
