    On the night of August 12/13, 1961, the GDR completely sealed off the border with West Berlin. For a long 28 years, Berlin was a divided city. Whole families, friends and acquaintances were suddenly separated overnight.

    Many people lost their lives in their escape to freedom. At the window of remembrance, learn about people who lost their lives at the wall. In addition, children died in the border strip. Find out today how selfish and inhumane the GDR was when it came to so-called border violations.
