Bicycle tour through the "other" Hamburg (min.4)

Overview

Pedaling through the affluent neighborhoods of the city as well as those scenes where drugs and prostitution thrive, as well as autonomous communities and artists' hubs, we symbolically cross the historic district towards grassroots democratic living. Heading to Sternschanze, we pass through its park and into the diverse alternative cultural landscape of Schanzen. Continuing down St. Pauli's harbor road, we find ourselves in the Portuguese quarter before reaching office buildings from 1920s such as Chilehaus. Then it's on to St. Georg—where one can experience multicultural life like nowhere else—followed by a ride along Inner Alster with Kennedy Bridge, Lombards Bridge with its rowing clubs and consulates, until eventually back at our bike station.
