Overview

We will virtually walk on the footsteps of Michelangelo Merisi aka Caravaggio using google earth mixed with other visual aids! We'll start from Piazza Navona and then visit 3 stunning churches: San Luigi dei Francesi, San'Agostino and Santa Maria del Popolo and "see" 6 original paintings by the master! We will walk in the alleys where he lived, loved, worked and....fought until he killed someone! We'll discover, his art, his adventurous life (and explore the city centre of Rome at the same time). CARAVAGGIO, was not only a painter, but a “star”! His adventurous life, full of sensational events, and his revolutionary style made him an undisputed leading figure of Italian art: you can find out everything about on our Caravaggio Experience. He came to Rome in search of fame and died at the young age of forty in exile, banished by the Pope after committing murder. He lived a short, dramatic life, knew the city of Rome in all its aspects, including the violent, sketchy and dangerous ones.
