Chandragiri Hill, seven kilometres from Thankot, lies on the South-West of Kathmandu Valley and is 2551 metres from sea level. This hill is connected with both Buddhist and Hindu religions. It is connected with the unification of Nepal by King Prithvi Narayan Shah as it is the historic trade route passing through Kulekhani, Chitlang, Chandragiri Pass, Thankot and inside kathmandu . The Bhaleshore Mahadev temple of Lord Shiva is on top of the hill.
The top of the hill provides scenic views of soaring peaks from different mountain ranges like Annapurna, Everest, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Langtang, Jugal, Rolwaling, and Numbur of the Himalayan range of eastern Nepal and breathe taking views of whole Kathmandu Valley. Covered with lush green blanket of flora, Chandragiri is truly a great bountiful and pristine landscape. The panoramic views of Kathmandu Valley & Himalayan ranges from Annapurna to Everest makes any one feel like seeing whole Nepal from this hill.
