Overview

    As part of this private travel experience (no groups) you’ll discover the splendid weather and vibrant artistic life of Ajijic and Chapala: two picturesque villages on the shore of Mexico’s largest lake (located 1-hour south of Guadalajara).

    Itinerary/what you'll do:
    • Meet guide and driver at your address at 9, 10 or 11 am. Ride in clean, comfy vehicle with AC.
    • Visit to the old train station of Chapala, nowadays a museum/cultural center, to learn about the lake’s history (30 min.)
    • Walk in the boardwalk or malecon of the lake in both Chapala and Ajijic to admire the breathtaking views while having local snacks (1 hour)
    • Exploration of local neighborhoods, art galleries, markets, churches, plazas, and shopping of crafts/souvenirs at boutiques (2 hours)
    • Tasting of the local cuisine at a carefully selected seafood “mariscos” restaurant. Meat-based, v, vv dishes are also available (1-2 hours)
    • Drive back to Guadalajara around 4-5 pm (1-hour)
