Tegucigalpa, the capital of Honduras is a mixture of colonial historical heritage and modernism of a contemporary metropolitan city. Despite its Spanish origins, it does not have the traditional square design of the streets surrounding the central square. Officially founded on September 29, 1578 under the name of Real de Minas de San Miguel de Tegucigalpa it is up to 3 centuries later, on October 30, 1880 that it becomes the capital of the country. In the historic center of Tegucigalpa we can find many old buildings that are part of the history of the capital, as well as office buildings and historic churches that make up the uniqueness of this city.
