Cycling (Self-Guided) - Montejaque Circular - 51km - Challenging

Duration

clock5 hours

Overview

From Ronda you head beneath the spectacular Ronda Puente Nuevo bridge and then out into the countryside. You can make a short stop at the Cueva del Gato, “Cat Cave”, named after the shape of the cave mouth in the mountain. This local beauty spot has a small waterfall where thousands of litres of very cold water exit the cave to create a beautiful pool of crystal clear water. From here you climb steadily into the mountains to the village of Montejaque - a lovely lunch stop on the village plaza. You exit the village via a narrow rocky gorge and a short, challenging stretch of twisting mountain road which dips into the gorge and back out the other side. You continue through cork forest before climbing back up the hill to Ronda.
