It is said that this temple was built by the Pharaoh Abu Dos who ruled in Egypt during the period of 15th century BC. Be sure to visit the historical Temple of Abu Dos and Dandara, which dates back to a time predating the dynasties of Egypt. During archaeological excavations at Hatur Temple, it was uncovered that half of the temple had been covered in sand, preserving some of its paintings from looting. Legends believe it was constructed during the rule of Pharaoh Abu Dos in the 15th century BCE.
