What To Expect
This is the usual itinerary for this product: your professional Egyptologist tour guide will pick you up from your Luxor Hotel / Nile Cruise Lobby and then begin a full-day excursion to visit the biggest ancient cult temple ever constructed in Egypt, Karnak temple complex. You'll walk along the avenue of Sphinxes to enter the complex as your guide explains how the enormous Karnak Facade was erected. As you go through the Temples of Karnak, observe each legacy left by diverse Pharaohs as the complex became even vaster. The point that makes Karnak stand out from most other temples/sites in Egypt is its length of time over which it evolved and was used. Afterward, you will move on to explore Luxor Museum, where two well-preserved royal mummies of pharaohs; Ahmose I and Ramses I are exhibited. Then proceed to view Luxor Temple with its entrance dominated by statues of great warrior pharaoh Ramses II and one of its original pair of obelisks (the second now stands at Place de la Concorde in Paris). Finally, have some free time for shopping at Luxor Market and afterwards be taken back to your hotel in Luxor.
