Nara is famous for a host of reasons—in addition to housing some of Japan's most beloved temples and the world's largest Buddha, who could forget the docile deer that will eat out of your hand- On this day trip to Nara, we'll visit such temples as Todai-ji, Kasuga Shrine, and Kofuku-ji, learning about Japanese religion along the way, as well as the Giant Buddha. And, no trip to Nara would be complete without dropping in on the famous deer—we may even stop to feed a few. At the end of our trip, we'll have a deeper appreciation for Japanese spirituality (and cute deer).
