Goats on the Tree in Agadir Morocco

Overview

After a 30 minute drive along the Agadir-Marrakech Highway, we will pause to observe goats climbing the Argan Trees - a species of tree that is only found in Morocco around the Atlas Mountains. These trees produce small yellowish flowers and small fruit with seeds inside a nut enclosed by soft flesh and rugged outer skin.
The goats are attracted to the pulp of this fruit, initially eating from lower branches before clambering up into the tree in search of more. This particular type of fruit is not consumed by humans.
Thus, Moroccan goats have uncovered a source of food which they can eat without having to compete for it. We will be returning to the hotel at around 12 o'clock.
