If you think a cactus garden isn't worth traveling. 30 minutes from the hectic souks of Jamaa el-Fna in Marrakech, think again. Cactus Thiemann is one of the World’s largest cactus farms, with fields of giant aloe, agave and prickly pear. The largest of its kind in Africa, with more than 150 different kinds of succulents, all displayed in a tidy manner, against the empty desert landscape.
This 17-acre (6.8-hectare) cactus nursery was founded in the mid-1960s by Hans Thiemann, an agricultural engineer from Germany, and cacti lover, his farm now is a garden and a research facility, has provided expertly grown cacti to the botanical beds of famous gardens, such as Jardin Majorelle.
you can choose the morning visit or afternoon visit, I will pick you up from your Marrakech hotel or riad, drive a half-hour to the garden get ready to discover this hidden place that's very magical and unique. A breathtaking view of a 7-hectare field of cacti, some of which reach 8 meters high.
