Overview

    Brokeback Mountain (2005). This critically-acclaimed film used a variety of locations throughout Kananaskis Country.

    From Calgary we will take a leisurely drive in four-wheel drive into Kananaskis Country on highway #66 to Canyon Creek Road trails where the Elbow Falls Day Use Area, home to the “Sweet Life” and “Maybe Texas” scenes, as well as the “Riding in the River” shot.

    After stopping in Elbow Falls we drive to Highway 40. This extraordinary route will take us to the towering peaks of the Rocky Mountains. Once we reach the Highwood Pass, you'll be traveling on the highest elevation of any highway in Canada (2006 meters).

    Throughout the journey, you'll be rewarded with abundant views of wildlife (bears, elk, moose, mountain goats & coyotes) and spectacular mountain vistas.
