Overview

Horrors of Communism is the only tour that offers you the opportunity to visit a former communist prison, one with some of the worst conditions in the country, initially built as a fort for the protection of Bucharest. In order to make sure you know all the details about how terrible communism was in Romania, you will meet your guide at the Palace of Parliament and discuss about how people were starved, arrested, followed by the Secret Police and other tortures out of the imaginary.
The guide will also read confessions of the ones that lived during those times and the ones that survived the communist prisons.
After that, you will be taken by car to Fort 13, found in Jilava, where you will go through the functional prison built in the 80s in order to reach the old part which is now a monument. You will be able to see different categories of cells where prisoners where locked, the small yard where they were taken out, the black room that was used for psychological torture.
