In this tour, we’d like to give you the opportunity to discover and go up La Rhune, explore the area, and then visit Sare and its prehistoric caves.
We’ll make a stop in Ascain, where you can see the XIV century Lapurdi church, the Romain bridge and typical houses. Enjoying the friendly atmosphere of this village !
The wooden zipper train to the top Mount La Rhune. On the top where you have a beautiful view over the French Basque Country, Navarra, Guipuzcoa, the Atlantic coastline from San Sebastian to the river mouth of the Adour in Bayonne or even to Les Landes.
You can also enjoy the wildlife and local plants like pottokas, birds of prey and the black-faced sheep.
It‘s possible to take the train back down or enjoy the 1.5h walk.
Then we visit Sare this picturesque village and the prehistoric famous caves. During your 45-60 minute visit, you’ll discover the history going back more than 2 million years.
