Nestled between the dunes and the ocean, Walvis Bay is Namibia's only deep water port. Originally started as a whaling station, Walvis Bay has grown into an industrial powerhouse for Namibia.
On your visit to Dune 7 you can see the harsh environment that the town sprang up in.
You will explore the various neighborhoods of Walvis Bay, with their differing cultures.
The tourist area is the Walvis Bay Waterfront at the lagoon and old part of town, where we can stop for refreshments before going to the Lagoon to view the wildlife. Please remember if you want to buy any curios you might need a copy of your passport.
Meersig is the first extension to Walvis Bay and shoulders most of the burden of keeping the sand out of the rest of town. Just how the desert is kept at bay will be shown to you.
