Overview

According to Bradt Travel Guides, the Komani Lake journey is described as “one of the world’s greatest boat trips”. We will stop for a short break by Vau i Dejes Lake, a beautiful and tranquil setting, and from here on we will experience local transport over bumpy roads but with a great view. At 09:00 we get on a small local boat (this destination is only reachable by boat) that will take us through Komani Lake offering spectacular views of the Albanian Alps, waterfalls, rural villages and wild forests. We take a local boat ride, mostly used by the natives of the area. It is considered by many as an exotic experience combined with the unmatched hospitality of the locals. We arrive at a rural village at about 10:30 (only reachable by boat). Here is where we begin our kayaking exploration of the area along the lake. We get back to Komani Dam at around 3:30 – 4 pm. From here we drive back to Tirana and arrive there in the late afternoon after a long but unforgettable experience.
