    The Phnom Kulen mountain range is located km northward from Angkor Wat. Its name mean “mountain of lychees” there is a sacred hilltop site on the top of the range. Phnom Kulen is considered a holy mountain of Cambodia, of special religious significance to Hindus and Buddhists who came to the mountain in pilgrimage. At the mountain, there are several places to explore, Preah Ang Thom, the 16th century Buddhist monastery notable for the reclining Buddha, the country’s biggest and the most significant 1000 lingas river.
