Layover tour in Cairo Visit Giza Pyramids and Sakkara and Dahshour and memphis

Overview

At 8:00 AM, your Emo Tours guide will collect you from your Cairo/Giza hotel to start your full day tour. You will visit the Great Pyramids - Cheops, Chephren & Mykerinos - and explore the Valley Temple where priests mummified King Chephren. Here you can get a close look at The Sphinx, the legendary guardian that stands guard over the massive funerary complex with its lion body and head of King Chephren (2.5 hours spent).

You will then travel 27 km southwest to Sakkara to see the Step Pyramid (built for King Zoser) which is part of a process that shows how pyramids evolved from simple mastabas into their current form (2 hours spent). You'll also visit Dahshur Pyramids (Bent and Red Pyramids) located 25 miles south of Cairo in a royal necropolis, two of which are among the oldest, largest and best-preserved in Egypt built between 2613–2589 BCE (1 hour spent).

Finally you'll explore Memphis City, the ancient capital of Egypt known for its colossal statue of Ramses II and great Alabaster Sphinx dating back to 3100 B.C. (1 hour spent). At the end of this tour you will be returned to your hotel.
