What To Expect

The PADI Open Water Diver Course lasts for 3.5 days and is a combination of digital theory, confined water dives, and four open water dives in the sea. The training dives are conducted from shore at two house reefs – Far Garden and Temple. On Day 1, travelers are transferred to one of our dive centers closest to their accommodation; transfer times depend on the location of the hotel but usually set off around 1-1.5 hours before 14:30 pm. Upon arrival at the dive club, they complete registration formalities, meet their instructor and begin with the first pool session and digital theory session.
Days 2-3 involve 8:30 am starts for open water dives in the sea followed by a movie break at 10:00 am and then pool sessions at 14:30 pm and quiz time at 16:30 pm. On Day 4, there are two final open water dives starting at 8:30 am and 12:30 pm respectively; once these have been completed travelers will have become certified PADI Open Water Divers!

Additional Information

• Not recommended for pregnant travelers
• Minimum age is 10 years
• Children must be accompanied by an adult
• Diving insurance is obligatory (own or purchase on spot at the dive club)
• Not recommended for participants with back problems, heart complaints or other serious medical conditions
• Diving within 24 hours of flying is not recommended. All participants will be required to complete a health questionnaire prior to diving. Some pre-existing medical conditions (eg asthma, heart conditions, etc) may prevent you from diving, please consult your doctor
