Wine Tasting tour in Kakheti with sightseeing of Eastern Part of Georgia.
Kakheti is the oldest wine growing region of Georgia. Most of the vineyards are located in this region, and Kakhetian wine stands out for its specific and unique features. Some of the wines produced in Kakheti deserve special recognition: Saperavi (red dry), Kindzmarauli (red semi-sweet), Rkatsiteli (white dry), and Manavis Mtsvane (white dry).
The making of wine in kvevri (clay pot buried below ground level or set into the floors of wine cellars) in Georgia goes back for 8 thousand years and this tradition is still intact. In 2013, UNESCO added the traditional Georgian method of making wine in kvevri to its list of intangible cultural heritage, thus proving the uniqueness of this method and recognizing that wine is an inseparable part of ancient Georgian culture
