When it comes to Hakodate, nothing is better than fresh squid and Ika-meshi (rice-filled squid), the local dish. Squid is the mascot that represents the region.
Let's make an item only available in Hakodate to leave pleasant memories in the craft workshop. The staff will tell you how to make it. The leather is cut out beforehand. You can engrave a name, letters, numbers or patterns on the piece of leather. Then paint the leather with a dedicated dye.Lastly, apply a finishing coat, and attach beads and braids. Now your one-and-only-item is ready! You can take it away and use it immediately.
The skills will be taught carefully to each person, making it enjoyable for people with no prior experience. No work requires physical power, so a whole family can easily enjoy the experience together. During the workshop, feel free to ask for advice or enjoy chatting with the staff.
