Ostuni rises up in the South of Murgia.
The old town centre, is unique for his monochrome dazzling colour: strictly white. Houses painted of whitewash and its topography gave to this city a fairy epithet: THE WHITE CITY.
In the Central Square there is St. Oronzo obelisk and the Franciscan monastery, which now is Municipalityâ--s headquarters, from here you can get into the old town centre through a stairs; here you can find strengthened towers, labyrinth of narrow streets, stairs and peculiar stairs, arches.
On the top of the hill, in a silent little square, you can see the Cathedral, settled in the highest part of Ostuni: built-up of gentle-stone in the XV century.Â
A building of unique design: as expression of the 1400â--s gothic-style, it presents a magnificent rose window.
Continuing the walking tour in Ostuni, you can admire the Bishopâ--s Palace and Seminaryâ--s Palace, others churches and archaeological sites.
