Patagonia Ice Field Expedition

Duration

clock8 days 8 hours

Overview

The toughest, most varied and spectacular mountain itinerary at Los Glaciares National Park and perhaps in Patagonia. It allows experiencing very close the movement and behaviour of glaciers in Patagonia and their effect on nature. A real 7 days/6 nights program adventure with 3 full nights camping on the ice glaciers that requires a minimum of experience in multiple days trekking carrying a full backpack.
We enter thru the Marconi Pass walking and scrambling in mixed terrain reaching the border between Argentina and Chile. We continue walking on snow and ice towards Circo de los Altares where we'll have a superb close up to the Fitz Roy and Torre massif's west face. Then we continue till a shelter (Paso del Viento) located at conjunction of the Viedma glacier with the Ice Field where we spend a day to finally return to town after camping at Laguna Toro (one of the remotest areas of Los Glaciares National Park)

IMPORTANT: Mínimum of 4 persons required.
