Overview

Get a feeling of deep authenticity and local life on this 6-hour semi private tour through Crete's villages and countryside. We visit the majestic monastery of Agia Triada Tzagarolon, set on a wonderfully overgrown landscape of olive groves, vineyards and cypress trees, where we learn about their produce of olive oil and wine. Continuing our drive towards the verdant province of Apokoronas, we will stop by the Fortress of Koules and at the tiny Maheri village, for a stroll around its alleys and refreshments at a typical ‘kafenion’. The tour will then take us further inland and we will visit a ceramicist's studio & home, an excellent example of traditional architecture, renovated in perfect harmony with the surrounding countryside. Continuing our drive along the foothills of the White Mountains, we will stop for a delicious traditional lunch at a family-run tavern,overlooking the valley and the sea beyond before our late afternoon return to Chania.
