Min learned to cook traditional Shan cuisine from his mother and is eager to share his family recipes, dishes that are typically not found in restaurants.
Float through the village, the only way to get to Min and his wife May's modest bamboo home that sits atop Inle Lake. The boat ride takes 15-20 minutes from Nyaung Shwe. The kitchen and dining area are out in the open, in the middle of Inle Lake, with stunning views of the floating garden and mountains in the background!
Join your hosts in their open, outdoor kitchen to cook authentic Shan dishes. This is a hands-on class, where you will learn to make 2-3 Burmese dishes from scratch. Learn about Inle food, culture and their way of life during your two-hour cooking class with your hosts. Sit down with Min and his family to enjoy the traditional Inthar and Shan cuisine that you helped prepare. Your menu may include dishes such as Inle fish curry, Shan tofu curry, green tomato salad and chicken with lime and basil.
