Overview
A representative of Ancient Egypt Tours will pick you up from your hotel in Luxor to experience a journey to Edfu. Upon arriving at Edfu, you will be transferred to explore the grand temple committed to Horus, which is frequently regarded as the best-preserved cult temple in Egypt. According to Egyptian myths, it was the place where falcon-headed god Horus avenged his father Osiris' murder by slaying Seth. Afterwards, lunch at a nearby eatery, followed by a visit to the Temple of Kom Ombo situated atop high grounds overlooking the Nile. It differs from other temples because of its double entrance; each one devoted to divinity: “Haroeris” with his falcon head and “Sobek” with his crocodile head. Kom Ombo Temple was built in honor of two gods – Sobek, god of fertility and creator of the world represented by crocodile-head and Haroeris or ancient falcon-headed Horus.
Moreover, Kom Ombo's importance lies in its immense sugar-cane fields. Finally, transfer back to your hotel in Luxor.
