Stop At: Temple of Karnak, Karnak, Luxor Egypt

Begin your day with an exploration of the Temples of Karnak. Stroll along the Avenue of Sphinx to gain entry into the complex as your guide explains how it was constructed. As you make your way through the Temples of Karnak, behold each relic left behind by various pharaohs as the compound became larger and larger. The further you delve into its depths, the farther back in time you will go – some ruins date back more than 3,000 years.

Walk through the Great Court into the towering Great Hypostyle Hall where 134 columns rise up like an ancient forest. Towards the rear portion of this complex lies a sacred lake where pharaohs and their offerings were purified centuries ago. After taking in all that there is to see at these temples, take some free time to explore on your own.

Stop At: Luxor Temple, Luxor 23512 Egypt

Continue to Luxor Temple which used to be connected with the Temples of Karnak via a two-kilometer long Avenue of Sphinx; a part remains visible at its entrance today. Ruled by statues of powerful warrior pharaoh Ramses II, Luxor Temple has survived floods from Nile River, foreign invasions and multiple thousands years facing nature’s elements.
