This trail begins on a dirt road that will take you to a forest full of Eucalyptus, Australian Cheesewood, Acacias and Yellow Ginger Lilies, you can also find several species of Typha a plant original from New Zealand. Here, you’ll be able to discover the Lagoa do Fogo water trails –levadas – and also some endemic plants as Uva da Serra (Vaccinium cylindraceum), Urze (Erica azorica Hochst), Folhado (Viburnum tinus) and Linguee. On your way to the top, you’ll find some place where you can have fantastic views over the south coast of São Miguel Island as well the islet of Vila Franca do Campo. Finally, walking through the water trails – levadas - you’ll meet the Lake Lagoa do Fogo.
