The impressive landscapes have made it a highly sought-after tourist destination in the capital, prompting attempts to reduce the pollution of the river and thus improve the quality of life of thousands of inhabitants who are exposed to it. The contamination of the river at this point led to the closure of El Salto Hotel, renowned for its architecture which was opened in 1928.

During a 1.5-hour tour with a bilingual guide through Hacienda Coloma you will be taken through every stage from planting coffee plants to roasting them. Afterward you can enjoy an authentic cup of coffee as well as some coffee liquor.
