Overview

Lava based Troodos mountains, nearly unique in the world. It was created through volcanic eruptions 90 million years ago and is an excellent place to explore, with a good selection of possible walking trips. In winter when Artemis may be snow-covered, we offer an alternative walking trip whose one end is Unesco World Heritage Asinou church. Walking in Troodos is also great during the warmer season, as temperatures here are considerably lower than the lowlands. Kakopetria provides a very good base for these walks, as it combines an old authentic stone-build beautiful quarter, with the amenities found in a large village. The presence of a number of Unesco World Heritage Troodos painted churches in the vicinity enriches the experience even further.
