This is a perfect day to get the best from both worlds: Oman’s wild nature with world-class adventures and the country’s rich culture. We get an early start and enjoy the stunning views that open to us on the way. A thrilling off-road drive gets us into the heart of Western Hajar, to the start of the famous Snake Canyon.
After kitting-up and a safety briefing, we enter the winding canyon with its 100m walls towering over us. As we descend, expect to scramble, slide, climb over boulders and hang off the rope, as the instructor lowers you in more challenging sections.
The second half of the canyon is usually full of water and offers a nice way to refresh in the freshwater pools.
A final hike through the boulder valley gets us back to the cars and a well-deserved lunch. Enjoy local lunch and head back to Muscat.
