Overview

The ancient red-walled city of Taroudant is sometimes referred to as “Little Marrakesh”, yet this label does not do it justice. Surrounded by striking red mud walls and the snowcapped peaks of the High Atlas Mountains, Taroudant's souks and squares have a captivating vibe. Not only that, but it is also a bustling market town where Berbers come from far away to trade produce from the fertile Oued Souss plain. There are no obligatory sights here; instead, visitors should take their time exploring the Medina at leisure. A visit to both souqs is highly recommended - more laid back than Marrakech, yet with a liveliness that can't be found in Agadir. With the Western Atlas nearby as well as Anti Atlas and coastlines close by, this city serves as an ideal base for trekking and other activities. Al-Massira airport lies just 65 km away from Taroudant which makes it much more convenient for travellers coming / going to the airport compared to Agadir.

Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product

Stop At: Taroudant, Taroudant, Souss-Massa

Upon arriving in Taroudant – also known as the 'Little Marrakech' due to its large ramparts and lively atmosphere of motor scooters, street vendors, and pedestrians – explore the craft souks located in the alleyways of the city. A walking tour will allow you to discover the charming Medina.

Next we'll travel to Tiout (30 km from Taroudant), a small town renowned for its Kasbah and Oasis. You'll have a traditional Moroccan tagine and couscous lunch at the top of the Kasbah (included) with breathtaking views of both the oasis and surrounding countryside. After lunch you can choose to take an optional donkey ride through the oasis (extra cost).

At 3:30pm we'll depart from Tiout and return you to your hotel in Agadir.
