This experience will bring you closer to two most important aspects of LOS ALTOS DE CHIAPAS: mysticism, religion and customs of the indigenous peoples in SAN JUAN CHAMULA, the town most visited by visitors and beautiful textiles made on the backstrap loom by the artisans of SAN ANDRES LARRAINZAR. In the shops and markets of San Cristobal you will easily find their embroidery but few visitors come to this town located within a picturesque landscape of the mountains. During this tour you will learn a little about the history and social context of the towns and we will get closer to the living culture, always in a respectful way. Our hallmark is interaction with local communities, as well as direct support for artisans.
