Overview

Named after the bubbling waters rising from volcanic terminal springs on the ocean floor, Champagne Reef (Scotts Head Soufriere Marine Reserve) attracts divers from around the world.

The reef plummeting cliffs and towering volcanic formations perfectly match Dominica’s massive mountains and gorges. You’ll encounter a dazzling explosion of color. You’ll see a paint box of sponges with names like Pink Azure, Red Rope, Yellow Tube and Purple Vase.

Matching the color and variety of the sponges and crinoids is a fascinating range of sea creatures, such as octopus, rays, trumpet fish, parrotfish, frogfish batfish, hawksbill turtles, seahorses, sea snakes and eels.

Scott’s Head and overlooks Soufriere Bay. It is one of the most popular diving sites with solder fish, grunts and sea turtles. You will see ocean views that stretch all the way to Martinique.

Scott’s Head is the only tied island in the whole Caribbean with on one side the Atlantic sea and on the other side the Caribbean Sea.
