Overview

On this tour we go to the area of the island known for its several lagoons, the Sete Cidades. We pass Pico do Carvão, where we have a phenomenal view of the south and north coast of the island simultaneously and the vast expanse of volcanic cones on the island. We continue towards Lagoa das Empadas, where, while admiring all its natural beauty, we learn about the importance that this lagoon once had for Ponta Delgada's council. Then we go to the viewpoint of Grota do Inferno, considered by many to be the best on the island, where we observe four lagoons at the same time. We continue to the emblematic viewpoint of Vista do Rei, where you will meet the legend of Lagoa das Sete Cidades. As we descend to the parish of Sete Cidades, we are enchanted by Lagoa de Santiago. We will visit the parish of Mosteiros, where we have lunch. Finally, nothing better than a bath in Ferraria, in a sea heated by volcanic vapors. We return to Ponta Delgada passing through several parishes on the south coast.
