Overview
In Zipaquirá, located 50 kilometers north of Bogotá, lies the largest salt mine in Colombia. This mine has been utilized since Muisca times, and despite its intensive exploitation continues to have abundant resources. At the center of the mountain is an underground Salt Cathedral, a spectacular feat of engineering, architecture and design that can accommodate up to 10,000 visitors - making it one of Colombia's most popular tourist attractions.
