The new airport is located 21 miles northwest of Hong Kong island, it is also referred as Chek Lap Kok. When traveling for the airport take the Western Harbour Tunnel and after exit from the tunnel take the West Kowloon Expressway. Check for airport signpost and the Tsing Ma Bridge for the airport island and lastly the north Lantau Highway.

Traveling to and from Hong Kong Airport

By Bus : the public bus station is located neat the ground transportation center and from car parks 1 and 2. There are number of bus service from the airport operated by Citybus (Ph: 2873 0818), New Lantao (Ph: 2984 9848) and Long Win (Ph: 2261 2791). Also airbus shuttle operates to different destinations in Hong Kong.

By Coaches : the coach operate from the airport to Guangdong (mainland China).

By Rail : the railway station is located at the ground transportation center and the MTR Corporation Airport Express Line (Ph: 2881 8888) operates to downtown Hong Kong and Kowloon station.

By Ferry : the tickets for ferry service is available before immigration and a bus operates to avail this service. The SkyPier (Ph: 2307 0880), which operates the high speed, ferry service between the airport and various places across the Pearl River.

Currency Exchanger & ATMs : the airport Terminal has three bureau de change located at level 7 at check-in, level 6 at departures and level 5 at baggage. Six banks and number of ATMs are located at different locations in the Terminal .

Food & Drinks : the airport Terminal s has some of the fines restaurants, bars, cafes and refreshment outlets. On level 8 the main concentration of food outlets are located serving the best of cuisines available any where in the world. An Irish pub is located in the arrivals hall.

Shopping : Hong Kong Skymart is the airport duty free shop with many tax free goods. A 24-hour convenience store is located in the arrivals hall.

Left / Lost Luggage : the left luggage facility is available in the arrivals hall (Ph: 2261 0110). The lost luggage service is available with customer service center and airport police, call(Ph: 2182 2018)

Other Facilities : post office is located in the departure hall.

Porter service is available at various places in the Terminal .

The airport is easily accessable on all levels with lifts and ramps and specially designed telephones, toilets and ATMs are available. Designate car parking is available at car parks 1, 2, 4 and 5. For special requirements the airlines should be informed in advance.
