The new airport is located 21 miles northwest of Hong Kong island, it is also referred as Chek Lap Kok. When traveling for the airport take the Western Harbour Tunnel and after exit from the tunnel take the West Kowloon Expressway. Check for airport signpost and the Tsing Ma Bridge for the airport island and lastly the north Lantau Highway.
Although the airport has single Terminal building but it is the largest enclosed space in the world. The Terminal is divided as east and west halls and is connected by free internal shuttle trains from the central concourse basement. Electric vehicles are available by paying a fee.
The airport information desk operated by airport authority is located on level 5 and 7, call (Ph: +852 2188 7111). The tourist board of Hong Kong operates help desks on level 5 in the arrivals hall and also in the transit area. Touch screen Kiosks are located in the Terminal providing interactive information. The airport is easily accessable on all levels with lifts and ramps and specially designed telephones, toilets and ATMs are available. Designate car parking is available at car parks 1, 2, 4 and 5. For special requirements the airlines should be informed in advance.
