Montreal Pierre Elliott Trudeau Airport is located in the Dorval Suburb of Montreal, around 12 miles from the downtown area of the city, and is the third busiest airport in Canada after Toronto and Vancouver airports. The airport is a major hub for the Quebec province of the country, and is used by around 12 million passengers each year. Both Air France and Air Canada are important carriers at the airport who between them offer flights to more than 200 cities worldwide from the airport.
As the biggest city in Quebec, Montreal is the most popular place for people entering this area of Canada to begin a touring holiday, and as such, having a hire car available for when you arrive in the airport is a good idea. Canada is a very large country, and there will be attractions that are several hours drive apart ? it would take about 7 hours to get from Montreal to Niagara Falls ? so if you are planning a driving trip, ensure that you book a rental car that is large enough for you to be comfortable for long periods of time.
All of the car hire companies at Montreal Airport are located outside the Terminal building on the ground floor of the multi storey car park. The desks are adjacent to the entrance to the building?s entrance, which is accessed straight after leaving the main Terminal buildings. At Montreal Airport you can get car hire with Alamo, Avis, Budget , Dollar, Enterprise , Hertz, National, and Thrifty.
From the centre of Montreal City, you should join the Ville Marie Expressway and head south west out of the city centre to Saint Pierre. Bear right through the junction onto the Autoroute du Souvenir ? the Route 20, which will take you directly to the airport.
Most important information about Montreal Airport is available direct from their website admtl.com, and this is kept up to date on a minute by minute basis, so is very reliable. It contains a full service directory for the airport, but if you have a specific enquiry and need to contact the airport direct, you can do so either via telephone at (514) 394-7377, or email to passengers@admtl.com
