The city's history began on the 22nd of December 1788, when 11 families and 24 men led by Colonel Robert Patterson arrived at a site of 747 acres, located opposite the Licking River. The location was first named Losantiville and was changed to Cincinnati on the 4th of January 1790. The city is known for its colourful, vibrant and unique atmosphere.
