Here are some interesting facts about Berlin Tegel Airport: This is the main international airport of Berlin, the federal capital of Germany. It formerly serves West Berlin. The airport is named after Otto Lilienthal and is the fourth busiest airport in Germany, with 20.5 million passengers in 2017 and about 222 million in 2018.

TERMINALS:

The Berlin Tegel Airport has three main Airport has three main passenger terminals: Terminal A/B, Terminal C and Terminal D

Terminal A/B

This is the original and oldest building divided into two parts but it is mostly Terminal A. It has a hexagonal shaped ring concourse with taxi stand and bus stops at its center, it has nobtransit zone meaning that each gate has its own security clearance checkpoint and exit for arriving passengers. Terminal B is just a small extension of Terminal A, also known as “Nebel-Hall” Named after Rudolf Nebel(German spaceflight pioneer). It is directly served by only one boarding aircraft stand.

It was opened in opened in 2007 as an interim solution because where filled up operating on thier highest capacity. It operates mostly with International and Domestic flights used by Air Berlin, Air Baltic and several others.

Terminal D

It was previously a large parking space, but it was opened as a terminal in 2001. It has 22 check in counters and only one gate for bus-boarding and two gates for walk- boarding. The only part of the airport that can be found opened all through the night is this terminal, the lower level of the arrival area is referred to as Terminal E.
