Berlin International Film Festival
Being held from 1951, the Berlinale (Berlin International Film Festival) is one of the main film festivals in Europe. Each year for about eleven days in February, the Berlinale features a great variety of screenings, forums, where both German and international films compete, and young filmmakers showcase their films to the audience. There are seven different sections in the competition: competition, panorama, forum, generation, Berlinale Shorts, Retrospective, Perspective Deutsches Kino. Films at the Berlinale are honored with Golden Bear, which is the highest price in the competition, and Silver Bear which is regarded as the second place.

International Green Week Festival
The history of the Berlin's green week festival roots from 1926 and came from the idea of combining an agricultural exhibiton with the German's Agricultural Society 's annual meeting. Nowadays, the International Green Week Festival had outgrown itself, as the yearly fair trade is being attended by over 400.000 people from both abroad and inland. The festival focuses on agriculture, food industries and horticulture, showcasing the rural life, seafood markets, wine industry and many more.

Berliner Frühlingsfest
None other kicks the festival season off in Berlin, which also marks the start of spring, but the Berliner Frühlingsfest. The festival is being held at the Kurt-Schumacher-Damm fairgrounds, every year from the end of March to April.All age groups can find activities at the festival, from carnival games to the market, eating delicious food and drinking and tasting bear brews from all around the world.

Berlin Oktoberfest
Exists an event in Germany, which let's people to celebrate the end of fall in a unique way. Annualy held in the end of September to the middle of October, the Oktoberfest is equal to beer, sausages, food and Germany. The Oktoberfest in Berlin offers the opportunity not only to drink but to enjoy in the nearby fair and to try out different games.

Carnival of cultures
Each year on Pentecost weekend for a few days Berlin transforms to celebrate how colorful our world is. During the four day festival, around 4700 participants from 80 countries are celebrating on the streets in traditional costumes, showing their native, folk dances from all around the world. The participants represent how culturally diverse Berlin is. An interesting fact is that at the end of the festival the judges give awards to the most original performances. While watching the street festival, the audience also can taste from the cuisine of the represent regions.
